What is the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 Writing test?
The writing test consists of two parts: Part 1 is filling out a form, Part 2 is a short message (approx. 30 words). The exam time is 20 minutes.
How is writing scored?
The writing part carries 15 raw points: Part 1 (form) = 5 points, Part 2 (message) = 10 points. Start Deutsch 1 is a single exam scored out of 100 points; you need 60 points (60%) overall to pass. The official grade bands (as a percentage of the total) are: sehr gut 90–100, gut 80–89, befriedigend 70–79, ausreichend 60–69, and nicht bestanden (fail) below 60.
